At the June 10th Business meeting of the Milford Lions, we announced the recipients of the 2025 High School scholarships. Each year the Milford Lions grant a single $1,500.00 scholarship to 3 Milford High School graduating seniors who are seeking a higher education. The criteria for this award include that the applicants must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, be enrolled in an accredited institution for the fall and show commitment to the community through volunteerism. We also give special consideration to applicants who have impaired sight or hearing, diabetes or other disclosed disabilities.
This year, for the first time we opened up 1 $1,500.00 scholarship to a Hopedale Jr-Sr High School graduating senior.
Club members score each application based on the above criteria on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the highest score for each category. The scores are tallied and the highest scores receive the scholarships. Each year it is a very difficult task as all the applicants are worthy!
This year’s recipients from Milford High School are Veti Raval, Sarah Saad and Benjamin Pezza.
This year’s recipient from Hopedale Jr-Sr High School is Madelyn DiMaio.
